To be honest, I’m not a huge historic, museum, old art kind of girl. I know they’re beautiful and people are extremely talented and while I can appreciate beauty, it’s just not really my thing. So I decided to make the best of it and focus on something I really love- music.

The first instrument that stood out to me were the pianos. There was a whole piano room with about four pianos and even a hands on instrument. It was so incredible to me that pianos started this way and have developed into what they are today- grand pianos with foot pedals, 88 keys, dark wood, light wood, music stands, benches, electric keyboards, sound effects, etc. I have a grand piano in my house and no one even plays it. Only when we have a guest come who can play or when my mom is feeling ambitious is it used. Think about that. It can even be used almost as a decoration at this point. Or a tool to bond over. It blows my mind to think how much progress has been made and how people keep developing and advancing these instruments to make them as amazing as they can be so people can listen, enjoy and feel music to the fullest. Everyone’s just making their own kind of music.

The other piece or pieces of art that stood out to me are two that were essentially made out of metal- the jingle and the triangle. You can probably guess which two they are- top right and middle. The jingle made me laugh a little because it’s exactly what it is. It jingles, with jingle bells. We don’t really have anything exactly like that today, but we do have a tambourine which is close enough to see the correlation. Again- advancement, change. It really made me stop and think about how there are so many people out there doing so many different things to make this world progress. The triangle! Something so simple and yet it still made it all the way until today in the music world. Guess it’s pretty important huh? There are all these instruments that are truly works of art people have created over time so that people can pick and choose what they love and make their own kind of music. That’s what makes me happy.
